Creativ Company Felting Needle| Wool

Special needle for needle felting carded wool that can be used to make all kinds of creative wool crafts.

Place the carded wool on top of a felt pad made of foam and insert the needle vertically up and down to felt the wool’s fibres. The more you ‘stitch’, the tighter the felting will be. Hold the top of the needle so that the needle barbs can ‘catch’ the wool. You can also place the needle in a felting needle holder made of wood, for example, to give you a good grip on the tool.

With a felting needle, you can transform wool into all kinds of creative things:.

• Felt small pictures to hang on the wall
• Felt placemats that fit perfectly under hot dishes and plates on the dining table
• Felt on polystyrene objects – this way, you have the basic shape and only need to cover the surface with wool
• Felt cute figures and shapes to attach to key rings or bags

.

Wool felting is an activity that dates back a very long time. But the traditional technique of felting with hot water has been updated and it is now possible to felt carded wool using a small barbed needle. This causes the wool to felt together. Needle felting does not require much preparation – and unlike wet felting, you can take breaks from felting and don’t have to deal with soapy water and covering
